Originally from Montoursville, PA, Jami Madonia moved to Chicago shortly after graduating from Pennsylvania State University and took her first job in the hospitality industry as a hostess with The N9NE Group. What was meant to serve as a short detour before a career in advertising and design, turned into a jumpstart to her career as Jami realized the world of hospitality was her passion.
Madonia worked her way up the ranks from hostess to floor manager at one of The N9NE Group concepts, before taking over as Controller and eventually, Regional Controller for the brand. In 2013, she changed paths when the company closed and Jami opened her own consulting business, JM Consulting. Soon after starting the company, Boka Restaurant Group became one of her first clients. Madonia’s role expanded as the company grew, and she joined the group as Controller in 2015.
Today, Madonia continues to have a large role in the growth and development of the accounting department. As Controller, she manages the accounting team, and oversees all financial activities for the entire restaurant group. She feels the best part of her job is being a key member in an evolving business and being able to offer the same support and opportunities she received from mentors throughout her career to her fellow team members. When she’s not in the office, Madonia can be found spending time with her two children, Alexandra and Weston.
